Big Bang 2.0

Client : Basque Government Department of Education, Universities and Research

Situation & challenge

The Basque Government Department of Education, Universities and Research has set Proyecto Eskola 2.0 (Project School 2.0) into motion in order to develop the possibilities that ICTs have to offer in teaching and learning processes and apply them at learning institutions. The prime objective is to support integration of technologies in education.

Solution

Within the scope of the Escuela 2.0 program, Virtualware has developed the "Big-Bang" project that presents digital educational material to develop knowledge in the area of Knowledge of the Natural, Social and Cultural Environment in the Third Stage of Primary Education.
Through the use of different digital formats (2D animation, virtual reality, augmented reality, GoogleEarth, etc.), original educational modules are being created that are ready to be used in formats such as desktop computers, student laptops or interactive digital whiteboards.

Results

The content developed by Virtualware is available in Proyecto Agrega: a platform to manage the educational resources of the different communities encompassed by Programa Escuela 2.0. To search the didactic sequences, you simply need to access the Basque Government node and search "SD" in the search termshttp://agrega.hezkuntza.net These tools, combined with traditional teaching methods, noticeably favor the development of basic educational skills of the new generations of so-called "digital natives".
