Dynacar, an electric car simulator

Situation & challenge

In this content during the last 5 years, Tecnalia (the fifth research organization in Europe) has been working in new concept for the mobility of the future and on enhanced configuration and virtual evaluation tools that enable the development and integration of new solutions. Tecnalia is working a new methodology called Dynacar that combines different tools to bring design concepts into solutions: Dynacar XiL (X in the Loop) and Dynacar2 (Dynacar-car)

Solution

Virtualware has taken part of this project by developing a real-time Graphics display system, the design and implementation of communication modules for a Virtual Reality Simulator. It has been an important role in the project, specially the graphics engine, because it allows multi-screen display, and it is based in the latest nVidia 3D Stereoscopic Vision System.

Results

There has been an high interest in Tecnalia Corporation by various companies in the automotive industry, and Virtualware will complete the project by developing a range of vehicles, to generate a powerful tool based on a dynamic system that enable to simulate the different experiences by driving different vehicles.
