The customer, specialised in automotive safety parts, needed a solution to optimise the workers’ training process when classifying parts, specifically disc brake supports or forks for cars. This is a critical and safety component that must meet high technical requirements and mechanical characteristics.
Virtualware developed an application based on virtual reality technology to simulate the classification process for certain parts, some of them having certain irregularities. Workers can go to the main plant in Fuchosa, using HTC Vive glasses. In this virtual environment, they can move freely, go to their work place, analyse the parts and classify them according to the presence of irregularities, obtaining a calculation of the results for each work session.
This solution enables reduction of the usual two-month period necessary to train and monitor new workers.
