At InnoTrans 2018, the world's largest trade fair for the railway industry, Alstom showcased innovations that help drive the global transition to more sustainable transportation, which exemplify the digitalisation of the mobility sector. As a mobility maker in the era of digitalisation, Alstom showcased its latest developments aiming at improving the experience of passengers, as well as innovations that empower operators, allowing them to improve their transport offerings and serve cities more efficiently. Alstom required a solution to display Iconis™ security, their security control centre and one of their latest product for transport operators.
Virtualware developed a tool based on an interactive 3D model that present the main Iconis™ security capabilities. The model allows the visitor to quickly understand the solution and its value proposition by simulating incidents in a metro station. The user is able to play as a security manager using an interactive interface of Iconis™ security and coordinating the response to the different incidents (use cases). The proposal is based on a guided interactive software, through which the visitor will encounter 5 security and safety incidents: Each of these incidents covers a real-life situation that operators are facing every day. The tool shows Alstom´s concern to passenger security and to the growing need to prevent external threats and incidents as much as possible from happening.
The tool developed by Virtualware met the main objectives:
- Educating audience to decision support management
- Differentiating Alstom from the competition by offering innovative customer operation experiences
- Demonstrating Alstom´s expertise and solutions capabilities
