Virtualware’s R&D unit’s main activity is training, research and development of innovative products and services in the interactive virtual/augmented reality technologies sector. This is so that an emerging industry with a great future will be boosted and a suitable environment for training qualified professionals will be created. Furthermore, innovative technological products and services adapted to market requirements will be developed.

It researches and develops innovative products and services adapted to client requirements thus reducing time to market.
It strengthens strategic alliances that make it possible to spread the market’s possibilities of virtual reality and interactive technologies.

Proyecto ITEA2 – Metaverse1 – (2009-2011)

“Global standards among real and virtual worlds”. – It will provide a global framework of standards between virtual worlds (Second Life, World of Warcraft, IMVU, Google Earth…) and the real world (sensors, actuators, vision and rendering, social and welfare systems, banking, insurance, travel, real estate and many others). Funded by Plan Avanza.

Proyecto NetGela (2006-2007)

Development of a real time control platform for control room based on simulation systems for a network of autonomous vehicles. NETS funding.

Proyecto BIDIPA (2006-2007)

Development in consortium with MIESA, Fundación Labein and Oficina del Historiador de La Habana Vieja (Old Havana Historian’s Office). A market product was developed in this project that is currently patent pending. Funded by the ministry in the PROFIT program and awarded with the IBEROEKA seal.
