Serious games for learning good habits

Client : Basque Government Department of Education

Situation & challenge

In the wake of the gradual increase in the use of ICT is in the classroom (Eskola 2.0) this project provides students with an opportunity to acquire supplementary knowledge in support of the curriculum in a fresh way that encourages the use of the Basque language.

Solution

The Eko-Bizitza! project has been launched, with the development of teaching material in the fields of Bioaniztasuna eta klima Aldaketa (biodiversity and climate change) and Kontsumo Iraunkorra (responsible consumption).
Kontsumo Iraunkorra is intended to help young people to acquire responsible consumer habits. It includes all the tools needed to enable students to obtain information, explore and learn independently or with guidance. When we get up do we turn out the bedroom light before we go for a shower? How long do we leave the tap on when we clean our teeth? With this new, open online education tool students learn responsible habits in a virtual world.

Results

This project helps to acquire supplementary knowledge for the subject of Natural, Social and Cultural Environment Science for students in the Third Cycle of Primary Education. Immersed in a 3-D environment, children learn responsible consumption habits through “play”.
