Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) is a neuro-psychiatric disorder characterised by developmental disability to associate information related to cognitive and emotional responses from others. It is characterized by difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication.
Oriented at children suffering problems related to AS and Autism. The application includes different activities, some in virtual 3D environments, where the child finds themselves in a common daily situation where they must respond to how they would react. Another activity shows children how different emotions trigger different facial expressions. eMotion aims to assess the children’s capacity and facilitates the development of communication and social interaction skills.
The application is currently being used with children from 8 to 11 years old to help test and treat AS.
